Children are the leaders of today, making it essential to cultivate their leadership skills, particularly in critical thinking and problem-solving, as we navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

To celebrate Children’s Day with a focus on quality education and skills development, we launched a campaign at Government Girls College Makurdi Benue State aimed at promoting digital💻🖥️⌨️ safety, especially for young girls.

This initiative is part of our "Stay Informed, Stay Safe Online" project. Our digital safety awareness campaign seeks to amplify voices against tech-facilitated gender-based violence, which includes issues like cyberbullying and harassment from misogynistic groups that often silence women and girls online.

The sensitization exercise specifically targets high school learners, empowering young girls with digital safety tools so they can engage online confidently and without discrimination.

Looking ahead, we are excited to strengthen our campaign by establishing digital clubs in schools. These clubs will further develop both learners and educators in essential digital safety tools, helping them navigate the online ecosystem effectively.

It has been a week of holding advocacy and strategic engagement meetings with MDAs to endorse the #74specialseats bill project funded by #unwomennigeria

The Bureau for International Cooperation and Development, represented by Director General Barrister Ori Onum head of programmes. BICD is a dedicated government unit committed to enhancing collaboration for the state. During a meeting with the League of Women Voters Nigeria Nilowv BENUE advocacy team, Barrister Onum assured full support for effective coordination and pledged to facilitate meetings with high-level stakeholders. This effort aims to secure endorsements and commitments necessary for advancing the bill into law.

The collaboration underscores the importance of united efforts to promote women's representation and strengthen governance in the state.@

Recently held an advocacy meeting with @Hon Anna Itodo Benjamin, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Benue state, to garner support for the 74 reserved seats bill. During the meeting, Hon. Anna Itodo Benjamin expressed her endorsement of the bill, stressing the critical role of the @Benue State House Assembly in facilitating its passage.

This initiative aims to promote women's representation and ensure their voices are effectively heard in the parliamentary process.

The meeting underscored the importance of creating awareness and garnering community support for the bill, highlighting the need for collaborative efforts to advance women's rights and participation in governance.

As part of the significant steps on the "promoting effective waste management project" aimed at addressing household waste management challenges in Benue state.

over the weekend we held a validation meeting with relevant stakeholders including the coordinator private sector providers Benue State Environmental and Sanitation Authority BENSESA, women and youth groups, community leaders, persons with disabilities to discuss the findings and insights on the recent survey conducted on households waste management experiences within Benue State particularly Makurdi metropolis.

Stakeholders interrogated the findings to gain insights and share perspective while consolidating on shared actionable solutions, targeted at waste reduction through promoting waste recycling and upcycling practices, fostering citizen engagement through awareness campaigns on environmental hazard and strengthening policy gaps by enforcing laws against indiscriminate waste disposal at unauthorised dumpsites are amongst the meaningful solutions to combat climate impacts as well as ensure community involvement and accountability in maintaining a clean environment.
