In a new interview with Famitsu, Noriaki Okamura said that he was looking forward to GTA VI but seemed quite nervous about it at the same time.
In the history of METAL GEAR, GTA and Rockstar Games as a whole have been formidable opponents and have cast a long shadow over the franchise (Almost all MG titles were facing GTAs and lost awards.)
So his fears seem legitimate.
He also stated that 2026 will be the year he announces “new initiatives.”

It seems obvious that MGSVOL2 will be announced in 2026, so he remains confident and vigilant, just as the team was at the time...
