@HoldHoome 1000%. In the game, Dina and Ellie get together before Joel’s death. Everything afterward is Ellie’s complete and total focus on revenge at any an all costs. She leaves pregnant Dina behind in the theater bc she has to find Dina. Not to mention what happens towards the end.
@DrScottFortune@JohnCraigNose Depends on a lot of things. Comorbidities definitely. Also I give patients options and let them decide. Not my job to gatekeep treatments. Lots of people don’t want surgery if it can be avoided.
@dr_brad_m@drdanchoi It started as the Ins co saying we will pay x % of what Medicare pays, so then the “billed” price goes up so you get the same reimbursement. But nowadays all the rates for every CPT code (how we bill) are all predetermined. It’s billed that way for tax and accounting purposes.
@dr_brad_m@drdanchoi The point is that it’s not the actual cost or bill. See how there is another column next to that? There will be 2-3 more columns, saying “ins paid”, “adjustment” and “you owe”. That 9k has no bearing whatsoever on what the facility or patient pay.
@drdanchoi As a physician you know that amount billed is different than amount paid. Doesn’t matter what’s billed. What’s paid/allowable is a pre contracted amount with the insurance co. Has nothing to do with the ACA.
This is either deliberately disingenuous or poster doesn’t know how medical payments work. “amount billed” means nothing. You can bill $1 million if you want. It’s the amount paid and amount you owe. These are pre contracted amounts with the ins co. Billed is totally irrelevant.
A few weeks ago my wife went to the hospital for stomach pain.
They did a CT Scan of her abdomen and thankfully didn't find anything serious.
Today we got the bill in the mail: $9,117.42
Healthcare is broken.
This is MY school district. Watch the commentator AFTER this awful woman. What this video doesn’t show is the literally 20 people that stood up to support the trans student, her rights and the law. I’m so proud I live here.
A mother in Deerfield, Illinois, has revealed that school officials forced young girls to change into their gym clothes in front of a trans-identified male student.
Teachers reportedly monitored the girls so none left the locker room in protest.

@dr_brad_m Society tells us that we are only useful as clinicians. It’s not true. We all have other great skills we can use to make a living. The key is to find something that gives you passion and lights you up. You can find it!
Louder for the people in the back: NEVER BUY A MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN. Medicare doesn’t require prior auth! Private insurers do and will find ways to deny things!!!! It is the biggest scam of all time.
Hey @Aetna@AetnaHelp
Shared with patient permission
We submitted prior authorization on 1/2 for a total knee replacement on 1/22 for a Aetna Medicare advantage patient. It was denied on Saturday 1/18 over the holiday weekend. Now your representatives are saying that since we didn’t appeal on Saturday, the surgery is denied and we need to restart the entire approval process. Additionally, no option was given to appeal the decision. We have spent 2+ hours talking to your staff with no recourse given.
This is inappropriate. Saturday was a holiday weekend. The patient’s family took off work and flew in to support her during the surgery. The patient has failed multiple documented rounds of non-operative treatment, and has a successful knee replacement on her opposite leg. Her X-ray below clearly demonstrates bone on bone arthritis.
This is a clear violation of Medicare guidelines.
Another example of the need for the passage of S.4532 Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act

One of my favorite quotes I heard from an ICU doc in residency: Surgeons say, “don’t just stand there, do something!” and Med docs say, “don’t just stand there, talk about it!” 🤪
I had a med student once ask “will rounds always take so long?” after we finished at 11am. I truly hope they’re now thriving in the surgical subspecialty of their choice.
