Imo they simply got a headstart over early dbs and will move onto moro for a bit up until close to the remasker's release and then they will return to future saga/top
If they really intend to reunite into one cohesive story there quality disparity will not allign with their previous statements.

Got a funny glitch in Sparking!Zero today
Dokkan devs saw this when putting Vegetto Blue against Goku Black in DFEs.

I think Goku could defeat Toppo. In their Zen Exhibition match Toppo says he probably wouldn't defeat him hadn't he avoided that last attack.

Incidentally Vegeta who was near equal to Goku basically fought Toppo to a standstill.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that Hit would win the tournament Lol. He would swoop in before their fight was over.
