Last week, I had the privilege of representing the ES of @RVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, at the official launch of the Integrated Agenda for Bacterial Infection Control (IABIC) Foundation by the Executive Director, Celia Emehuru.
At the event, we also created awareness about the Rivers State Health Insurance Programme, and during the panel session, I highlighted:

GOVERNOR SIMINALAYI FUBARA APPROVES IMMEDIATE IMPLEMENTATION OF SKIPPING, ACCOUTREMENT ALLOWANCE FOR 2023, 2024, AND 2025, AND PAYMENT OF RESIDENCY GRANT FOR MEDICAL DOCTORS IN RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT SERVICE.
DONATES BUS TO ARD, RSUTH AND APPROVES HEALTH INSURANCE FOR HEALTH WORKERS IN RIVERS STATE.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara in an extraordinary move to reposition the health sector and improve the welfare of health workers in the state approved the free enrolment of health workers in Rivers State into the Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme Skipping allowance, Accoutrement allowance for 2023, 2024, and 2025, and Payment of Residency Grant for Medical Doctors in Rivers State Government Service.
The Governor who appreciated the Medical Doctors in the State also approved a bus for the Association of Resident Doctors, Rivers State University Teaching Hospital.
The Governor made these known in a meeting with the leadership of the Association of Resident Doctors, Rivers State University Teaching led by Dr Abiye Nonju which had the Honourable Commissioner for Health (Dr Adaeze Oreh), the Chief Medical Director of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (Prof Chizindu Alikor), the Director of Medical Services (Dr Vincent Wachukwu) in attendance. Also, in attendance were the 1st Vice Chairman of NMA Rivers State branch ( Dr Ureh Oparaodu) and the Chairman of Medical & Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria, Rivers State branch, Dr Josiah Appolus.
The Governor conclusively assured the team that more healthcare workers will be employed to further boost healthcare delivery and that the welfare of health workers remains key to his government while assuring payment of the arrears of the adjusted CONMESS and CONHESS of 2023.
