The removal of the fuel subsidy has removed the cap on fuel prices. Presently, Bonny Light trades at $ 90 per barrel. No oil producer will sell at a discount to Dangote. FG can sell to the refinery in naira at a discounted exchange rate to cushion the impact of rising oil prices

Nigeria would have been worse hit by the US–Iran conflict if we were still solely dependent on fuel imports. The commencement of the Dangote Refinery and the removal of fuel subsidy have, to some extent, helped boost the economy’s present ability to absorb external shocks.

This is not true though. The new tax law is inclusive. It exempt low income earners but also ensures others pay their fair share of taxes to the government. Those afraid of what is coming are, either not paying tax at all or are not paying right amount of taxes.
