Barack: You told me all those years ago that you couldn’t promise me the world, but you could promise me an interesting life. Of course, you outdid yourself and managed to give me both.
Eight years in the crucible, and not once did you melt from the heat. Not once did you let it harden you. Instead, you used it to reveal your truest essence: your stubborn optimism and unflinching courage, your dazzling brilliance and unpretentious decency, your ferocious work ethic and absolutely unshakable moral fiber.
So you stay. You carry it.
Not out of weakness, but out of hope.
May this May bring you the opportunity of a lifetime.
The better future you're working toward is coming.
Happy Workers' Day
to those with jobs and to those still fighting for one

To the Youth Who Keep Showing Up
You defy the odds every single day.
Overworked, underpaid, held in place by a system that knows
... leave, and another graduate waiting at home (unemployed) eager and just as deserving will step in and earn what you called meagre.

20 years ago, I was studying abroad at the @UnivofGh. Like spaceflight, it was a positive, life-changing, perspective-deepening experience. Seeing the beauty of Ghana from space reminds me of the amazing people I met there and how in exploring the world, we learn about ourselves.
