Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day!
We’re committed to providing accessible content.
Disabled people and those with impairments shouldn’t need to take action to content to make it accessible – it should be accessible from the start.

Due to the Bank Holiday, our Recipients who would usually receive their payments on Monday 25 May 2026 will instead receive them on Friday 22 May.
Our office will be open as usual on Monday 25 May.
Some people can’t see images clearly – which is why we use Alt Text (alternative text) on images on our website and socials.
It just provides a description of your photo or image so that someone who is blind or has a visual impairment can be included in the conversation.

One of the simplest ways to be more accessible is to ensure that you don’t use all caps.
People use visual cues to read and all caps take up the same amount of space as each other, meaning that it’s more difficult and tiring to read.
#GAAD#AccessibilityTip#Caps
In Scotland approximately 1.3 million people have a disability, long-term condition while in Northern Ireland it's 24% of the population.
Not producing content that’s accessible and available to everyone risks isolating nearly a quarter of the population.

It’s #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessWeek with Global Accessibility Awareness Day (#GAAD) on Thursday.

Everyone is welcome – you don’t need to have ILF to join.
The events will be held online through Teams and are free to attend.
