I found him the most beautiful, upstanding assisted living home & he had more fun & joy there that never would have with me. I was retired, so I could do that. People who work just can't.

@grfxdznr @Real___iTamara That's funny. I agree with you. My kids have their own families to tend to. I have always said I will NOT be a burden on them. My choice, not theirs. I took care of my Dad for as long as I could but I was retired. My kids & their spouses have/need 2 incomes, not home with me.

@Real___iTamara In past generations, families always looked after and cared for their parents at home. What has really changed now is most families have 2 people who both work. Can one quit their job to stay home with a parent? It makes it harder to do what used to be done back in the day.
