The dock is in and the Spillway Bay secondary low-water ramp is ready for launching! According to NGP, it is single lane, about 10 feet wide. 4 wheel drive is recommended.

NGP staff have been preparing to provide low-water access to the reservoir by • Preparing the Spillway Bay emergency boat ramp (pending federal approval). • Preparing to extend the Diver’s Bay and Martin Bay boat ramps with rock (pending fed. approval.)

The walleye bite is beginning to slow down but they are still being caught in 14-20 foot of water near Lemoyne and Ogallala Beach. Live bait has generally been successful.

Visitors should use caution at Lake McConaughy and Lake Ogallala as park staff cleans up from last night’s storm, removing downed tree limbs and other debris. Please be cautious near the water as the storm has caused shoreline erosion.

Water temperature is up to about 72°F now. Walleye are being caught in 14-20 foot of water near Lemoyne to Sandpoint, with live bait. Small mouth bass can be caught on the dam and rocky points. Wiper can be caught on the face of the dam at night. (📷:FIN)

To maintain boating access during low water, Game and Parks has hired an excavation company to remove sand June 30 to July 2 at the Diver’s Bay and Martin Bay Low-Water boat ramps. The ramps will be closed to public access — one at a time.
