As the Society of Jesus celebrates the 500 Anniversary of Ignatian years, the IMCS – Africa joins the Jesuits and other Ignatian families in prayers and celebration that our gracious Lord may continue to guide the Society of Jesus in its mission for the Greater Glory of God.

We had our first fruitful meeting with all sub-regional coordinators. We discussed regional and sub-regional situations of IMCS in Africa. We also reviewed the ways how to foster the possibility of IMCS members' role in fighting Covid19 in collaboration with the local Church.

Violent conflict disproportionately affects some of the poorest countries and the poorest people in the world. IMCS Africa, therefore, affirms that addressing violent conflict is a core and necessary step to achieve poverty reduction and to fully attain sustainable development.
