Abdulfatah Kasim Mohamud, #IMCTC concluded the “Peace Journalists” Initiative in Mogadishu. The initiative is aimed at building the capacities of media professionals to counter terrorism, hate speech, mis/disinformation, and terrorist propaganda, and fostering the role of professional media in protecting of societal awareness and promoting the values of moderation and peace.

IMCTC launches the activities of the “Peace Journalists” Initiative in the Somali capital Mogadishu to build the capacities of media professionals to counter extremist narrative, hate speech, mis/disinformation and terrorists propaganda campaigns in the digital space. The Initiative seeks to further train a select group of journalists, academics and specialists on counterterrorism matters and equip them with advanced tools and technologies in digital fact-checking, content analysis and exposing media manipulation.
