With the exhibiting space in the Additive Sector at #IMTS2026 nearly sold out, the presence of additive manufacturing is hard to ignore, and we have no intention of doing so.
That is why AMT and IMTS are excited to be releasing the Additive Manufacturing Report. This is the first of several reports on different facets of the manufacturing industry. It explains why interest in additive is rising again—driven by reshoring, supply chain risk, and the need for greater production flexibility. Inside, you will find tools such as a practical framework and a scorecard to determine where AM can deliver real value. The report also details where traditional processes still hold clear advantages and what economics truly matter beyond cost per part.

Yesterday, @NASA launched Artemis II, marking the first time in over 50 years that America has returned to the moon. The last mission was Apollo 17 in 1972, but much more recently, we saw a piece of lunar history at IMTS 2022. At the Emerging Technology Center, we not only had part of the lunar habitat, built by @ingersollmt, but they were also printing new pieces for it live on the floor! We were honored to have a part of space exploration on display, and we cannot wait to see the amazing work of the Artemis II mission!

25 years ago, Mike Bauer of Marathon Precision invested in the company's first CNC machine, a bold choice that would lead to an abundance of opportunities. Bauer's investment in technology is why he was one of the first to own @Haas_Automation's 5-axis machines, and Marathon now operates more than 50 CNC machines.
Bauer believes that walking the floor at IMTS, talking to engineers, and seeing the latest ideas are key to advancing the manufacturing industry.
