It's okay for @AOC to recruit voters using @Twitch but it's not okay for the @USArmy to use the same platform as a recruiting tool... Seems like a "Pot and Kettle" situation to me. #Hiprocrisy
Stream one of the platforms most popular games at the moment to gain momentum. #Shame
@BrianLiskai Guilty, but working with you in the past, I feel like you would have wanted to know. I guess you don't care about the @FloRacing audio conditions or their subscription user that pays for the maxed out gain on your microphone because it is not in your control.
@mbruning81@ODOT_NWOhio It didn't take long for the about 10 year old concrete to crack. Moved into that facility in late 2014, I was an employee at the Allen Co. garage until Oct. 2016, when I transferred to LoCo garage.
@mbruning81@ODOT_Statewide I've had to use a lot more than a simple phone app to plow / treat the roads in a plow truck, but you're correct it's no excuse. I promise not to do that again. I'll pull to the shoulder first, stop, and then take a photo before continuing onward.
@ODOT_Statewide@mbruning81 absolutely disgusted with the efforts not made in logan county over night. It started freezing drizzle before 8 pm last night. More than enough time to react!
@mbruning81@ODOT_Statewide I normally wouldn't use my phone, I believe in hands-free use 100%, but this egregious act needed to be recorded. It is so disheartening to put in 13 years at the place and still care to see stuff like this happen.
From an amazing Michael Crichton talk:
“Media carries with it a credibility that is totally undeserved. You have all experienced this, in what I call the Murray Gell-Mann Amnesia effect. (I refer to it by this name because I once
discussed it with Murray Gell-Mann, and by dropping a famous name I imply greater importance to myself, and to the effect, than it would otherwise have.)
Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article
on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the
article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues.
Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them.
In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate about Palestine than the baloney you just read. You turn the page,
and forget what you know.
That is the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect. I'd point out it does not operate in other arenas of life. In ordinary life, if somebody consistently exaggerates or lies to you, you soon discount everything
they say. In court, there is the legal doctrine of falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus, which means untruthful in one part, untruthful in all. But when it comes to the media, we believe against
evidence that it is probably worth our time to read other parts of the paper.”
@mbruning81 I mean, it's okay, but nothing special. I would rather hear my leadership team tell me that I'm appreciated or keep up the good work than be fed. I can buy my own lunch, I can't buy honest compliments!
@mbruning81@ODOT_Statewide I'm heading to the Adjutant General's Department and working at Rickenbacker Air Base with the Air National Guard. This move could not have happened without ODOT, my team of engineers, managers, contractors/ subcontractors, and my peers. For that, I am so appreciative!
I am grateful for having this team keep us updated weekly; however, I am sad because it is my last episode while being employed with @ODOT_Statewide. Thank you @mbruning81 and team for always keeping us "In the Loop"!
@mbruning81@ODOT_Statewide Same issue here. Love the app when it is working. Tried both android and apple devices, just seems to be not locating county or MM
