@jennifer_zilla@saw50st8@silvereliana_ In some middle eastern countries, the norm is to touch noses. In others, they kiss on the cheeks. Is that okay with you as well then? Since it's a normal social custom will I see you lining up at work to rub noses with Arab sheikhs?
Two local schools in Leicestershire now embroiled in rows about punishing kids for coming to "diversity day" in England flags / shirts.
>We will end this divisive rubbish & get schools focussed on *actually teaching kids stuff*
NEW: A left-wing news outlet has reportedly been de-banked by Lloyds Banking Group without explanation
The Canary has alleged that Lloyds are 'currently withholding a substantial amount of our money' and 'has not explained why it has taken this action'
📕 With a shared passion for books and a deep commitment to children reading for pleasure, The Queen and author J.K. Rowling have met at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.
Her Majesty and Ms Rowling discussed the importance of ensuring that young people have access to books and the vital part reading plays in opening doors for future generations.
should also be a reminder that the club that stuck by him and still plays him week in and out is Mainz. the same club that cancelled Anwar El-Ghazi’s contract for showing support to Palestine.
The irony in this story is overwhelming.
The guy fled China in 2014 because he faced prison for fraud and corruption. No-one believed China, despite them issuing an Interpol Red Notice for his arrest. Western media and US officials universally presented him as a brave dissident unfairly harassed by the "CCP" in a "politically motivated" way (https://t.co/z0vpZvYDrT) because he was fighting corruption (see this VOA story for instance: https://t.co/0rC47K7QDM), a complete inversion of reality.
Steve Bannon even started a nonprofit with him called the "Rule of Law Society." The irony writes itself.
Long story short and true to form, Miles Guo used his "dissident" credibility in the US to - guess what - defraud Americans of $1 billion.
And here we are, 12 years afterwards, with US courts essentially concluding "yeah no, he is actually a crook, our bad."
Which makes it probably the most expensive fact-check in history: $1 billion of damage to verify what an Interpol Red Notice said a decade ago.
I know I'll sound like a broken record but this is yet another fantastic illustration that the kneejerk anti-China bias in Western media is actively harmful. When China says "careful, that guy is a dangerous crook" maybe, just maybe, it's worth checking before branding him with a heroic "dissident" narrative that he can then use to rob your people's life savings... Just a thought 🤷
you could say this about plastic surgery culture, the pressure to wear makeup, the beauty industry inventing new things to be insecure about. the question of women’s complicity in patriarchy is always disproportionately focused on conservative women who don’t wanna show skin lol
Can you imagine a time when Australian media outlets stop running sympathetic headlines for men who kill women and children?
Today’s specials include the killer of Tunchanok Donhomla justifying his decision to bash the tiny 17-year-old girl to death and dump her naked body in a suitcase. This was after Simon Peter Carman decided to pay her for sex. She’s a fucking child.
Meanwhile, https://t.co/t1aCilPX4j is letting us know about his ‘sad’ life. Cry me a fucking river. He’s a child sex abuser who killed a girl. End of story.
Uses the word “raped” to describe someone who’s standing up to racism, but will claim to care about women and children
Nazi scum need to be shamed into hiding once more.
