PlayStation has abandoned social media for 5 days now after the huge backlash over the end of physical releases from everyone except some bootlickers.

This is apparently not the first time, they already did it when they shut down Bluepoint Games.

They probably think people will forget and will eat this up.

while everyone argued about disc drives, the internet actually read Sony's European Terms of Service. section 21 of the current terms - and the clause has been there for years.

- go 36 months without logging in, and Sony may begin closing your account
- they send one email warning. You get six months to respond
- miss that email, and your entire digital library - games, DLC, purchases - becomes permanently inaccessible
- "Account closure is irreversible" - direct quote from the document

now do the math with what Sony announced this week:
> from 2028 physical disc production for new games ends - there is no backup plan.
> three years of real life - deployment, illness, a broken console - and everything you've bought over the years hangs on a single email sent to whatever address you registered in 2026.

According to the note, based on leaked info, they lied.

“From the Insomniac leak, PlayStation's own single-player games make up 60-77% of sales.

The data being used to argue for higher digital purchases include DLC, expansions, digital-only games such as early access, and live services.”

PlayStation updated its Terms of Service in April 2026, and Section 21 outlines how inactive PSN accounts may be closed.

> If a PSN account remains inactive for 36 months, Sony may begin the account closure process. The account holder will receive an email notification and has 6 months to sign in or request that the account remain active.

> If no action is taken and the account is closed, access to PlayStation Network services will end.

>Any digital purchases tied to that account, including games, DLC, and other digital content, will no longer be accessible.

According to the Terms of Service, this process is irreversible.
