ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕೋವಿಡ್-19 ನೆಪ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿ ರಾಜ್ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿ ಪಂಚಾಯಿತಿಗಳ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದೂಡಲು ಹುನ್ನಾರ ನಡೆಸಿದೆ.

ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯತಿಯು ಮೊದಲ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ದಿನಾಂಕದಿಂದ 5 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದನ್ನ ಮುಂದೂಡಲು ಸಂವಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಕಾಶವಿಲ್ಲ.
