- still. It's just you and the stage.
I can't deny those days were magical for me, as much as I'd like to go back... my physique and other responsibilities won't allow it. ❞
ㅤ
ㅤ
❝ Oh come on now, don't start giving me hope. ❞
The mature lady sighs, stretching herself as she looks up at the sky. Her own physique wasn't even that bad, her form was just rusty if anything.
❝ When you're skating on the ice, it's as if the whole world stands -
ㅤ
ㅤ
❝ Well then, Yidhari.
So, a group of friends without formal contracts... I think I may just stick around. ❞
Her ears would twitch, one of them had a small bell shaped earring.
❝ So, solving mysteries... reminds me of a cartoon I watched when I was little. Something -
ㅤ
ㅤㅤ
A company. It's like a friend group or a forum. Together, we do all sorts of work, explore the Hollows and such. That's why we don't really do contracts ❞
ㅤㅤ
ㅤ
❝ Just Betty is fine, no worries.
And what about you, dearie? ❞
Eventually she would put the pills away, standing up and stretching her back, ready to go right back to work.
❝ No contracts? That's definitely a novelty for me... ❞
ㅤ
ㅤㅤ
Seeing the new arrival take the pills worried Yidhari a bit, but she didn't bring it up.
❝ My apologies. . . I forgot to ask for your name. How should I call you, dear miss? ❞
ㅤㅤ
ㅤ
❝ It's no problem, I can adjust my pace as needed, just say the word. ❞
From her purse, she takes out a small container of pills, seemingly regular painkillers, as takes one with the glass of water.
❝ So, got a contract for me? ❞
ㅤ
ㅤㅤ
❝ If you'd like more water, just feel free to tell me ❞
Setting the jar on a nearby table, tentacles curiously swaying behind the thiren.
❝ You can always take your time with work. You don't need to rush, dear ❞
ㅤㅤ
ㅤ
❝ Huff... Thanks, dearie. ❞
Soon she drinks it down in one big gulp, she really was quite thirsty. Tapping her heels again, her skates turn back into regular shoes.
ㅤ
ㅤㅤ
Two of the purple tentacles extended to the side, bringing in an empty glass and a jar with water, pouring the water into the glass, soon offering it to her new helper
❝ Here, drink some water. You seem tired ❞
ㅤㅤ
ㅤ
❝ Oh come on, it's nothing. When I was still doing figure skating, I could have done this much faster.
But what do you know, I'm getting old, I don't have the same endurance I had 25 years ago. ❞
Just then, she sat down, she looked... Exhausted.
ㅤ
ㅤㅤ
Yidhari felt a bit useless at that moment, just watching the new arrival clean everything up with such speed. Even with extra arms, this usually took the octopus thiren a lot more time
❝ I must admit, I am impressed ❞
ㅤㅤ
ㅤ
And just a measly five minutes later, she was completely done with cleaning.
❝ I think the wheels need to be replaced, they feel slower than usual. ❞
ㅤ
ㅤㅤ
The octopus thiren blinked few times, being quite shocked by the speed of the new arrival. It certainly was impressive
❝ A-Alright then! ❞
And soon, using her hands and her tentacles, she began to clean as well
ㅤㅤ
ㅤ
❝ Not a problem, I can start right away. We can get the paperwork sorted out later. ❞
Doing a small jump, she hits the heels of her shoes together, as they now transform into inline skates.
And she gets right to cleaning, at an impressive speed too.
ㅤ
ㅤㅤ
❝ Oh? Well, you can start right now! I was planning on cleaning the store so if you want to, you can help me out ❞
How busy must this lovely lady be? Atleast she is organised, Yidhari appreciates that
ㅤㅤ
ㅤㅤ
No harm in that! It's just. . . a bit suprising that she would want to be friends with Yidhari. People usually fear the octopus thiren
Oh? She'll be more than welcome in their little Spook Shack family!
ㅤㅤ
ㅤ
❝ Best you avoid pushing yourself. You're still young, can't let ether ruin that, can you, young lady? ❞
The thiren would stretch, before taking a sip of that cherry flavoured soda, it seemed to be an off brand.

But I am an old lady now, I am well past my glory days. ❞
