@Norman2wmj@inyagirldms@Arubekind ++even with the means to move out, some parents want their children take care of them in retirement. i know several responsible adults in my country who still live with their parents, working full-time and paying the bills at home while taking care of their old parents.
@Norman2wmj@inyagirldms@Arubekind i don't think it's a measure of "adulting", it's more of a cultural divide. here in southeast asia it's more uncommon to live separately due to economic factors too, housing prices are not attainable for the average person here++
@WifiMoneyPlant i don't think this is accurate. you can mess up big time early in life and still catch up or even outdo people who have never messed up. there's a saying just 6 months of being locked in can overwrite 5 years of mistakes. life isn't linear like that, it can be exponential too.
@shizaruchannn i disagree. average filipinos on average don't eat fastfood on a daily basis, that's a huge portion of the wallet. if you consider 600-700 php being the daily minimum wage, fastfood is around 100-200 php. average filos eat homecooked meals or carinderias.
@wesomesauceman it's not really necessarily insecurity to defend against misinformation. food is deeply cultural and personal, of course it can be offensive. i agree with the attacks against foreigners being too much though.
@MonarchFiggie ++ a healthy economy is when not everyone has a degree, a bachelor's degree is reserved for fields that genuinely require deep academic, theoretical, or heavily regulated training. otherwise there are much more productive ways to get into jobs that need less time and education.
@MonarchFiggie that's bcs in an ideal world university is for self-actualization & self-discovery, not merely a ticket to a job. ideally some jobs shouldn't require a bachelor's but credential inflation wrecked the job market & now so many r forced to get into college even if it's unnecessary
@elisyxrae I kinda disagree because i think that the amount of roleplays/perfomances are too varied based on the school.. some schools have a lot of acting/performances and some barely. I think it's more about mass-promotion of students even if they don't deserve it.
@Celespel@geekins_ I 1000% agree. Doomerism/hopelessness is what's going to make the country fail, because they're just letting the corrupt win by giving up.
@Jaxxxon_0@geekins_ Blaming the voters for 'picking what is popular' ignores the systemic barriers that dictate how people vote. It’s a highly classist take that assumes every voter has the luxury of equal access to information & financial stability. Blame the system, not the ppl. We're all victims
@Head4DHillz@geekins_ Classist rhetoric.. Patronage politics thrives because it exploits the vulnerable and underserved. When families are living below the poverty line, a handout is immediate relief. We cannot demand high-level civic sense from people whose physiological needs aren't met.
@geekins_ It will never develop as a country if y'all keep bringing that hopeless/doomerist mindset. As long as there'a a teeny tiny percentage of hopefuls and progressives there will always be a good future ahead.
