Update on Maya from her father:
The neurosurgical team spoke with me today and they’re very happy with the output from Maya’s EVD. Over the past five days they’ve gradually challenged the drain, and there has been virtually no CSF draining during that time. Because of this, the neurosurgeons strongly believe that Maya no longer has hydrocephalus.
With that in mind, the decision was made today to remove the drain. They explained that they’re giving her what they call a “brain holiday,” allowing her brain some time to rest while also reducing the risk of infection before her upcoming surgery to place the synthetic skull prosthetic back in.
When the time comes for that surgery, they will assess everything in the OR using ultrasound. Based on what they see, they will decide whether to place the EVD back in or if she may not need it at all.
Little by little we’re getting there, Maya Bear 🐻❤️
Maya was let down by us collectively as a people.
It infuriates me. The man who shot her — who our media and police are still calling a woman — should not have been free.
He should have been institutionalized.
Instead, at least some of his delusions were affirmed.
Suicidal empathy in our society led to multiple child murders, and this sweet, brave girl having her dreams and mobility taken from her.
More Maya!
Our sweet little girl finally got to enjoy the outdoors again today. We were able to bring her up to the patio for some fresh air. It was only about 20 minutes, but the sun was shining and it was such a beautiful moment seeing her out there ❤️
NHL referee Wes McCauley is working his 1,500th regular season game tonight at Golden Knights vs. Blackhawks alongside a hand-picked veteran crew. More on McCauley's career as he works this milestone game: https://t.co/EGQUalB9Ja
While some people may be late to the issue, the bottom line is George Parros and his Player Safety Group have abdicated any responsibility to real player safety long ago. A typical NHL game is a litany of unpenalized headshots and other illegal blows to the head… 1/2

Update from Maya's father:
Maya has started sitting in her chair again now that the incision on her head has healed a bit more. It’s been really nice to see her up again. The doctors have also been gradually raising the level of her EVD each day to help regulate her CSF fluid.
Today she has been a little more responsive than the past few days. She’s been squeezing the neurosurgeons hand on request and tracking more with her eyes, which are all really encouraging signs for us.
Cia also made two paddles for her one that says “YES” and the other that says “NO.” It’s been such a helpful way for us to ask her questions and communicate with her right now. It may be simple, but in this moment it means everything to us. We’re so grateful for even the smallest ways we can connect with her.
@SwissChaletCA Even though 2 CAN DINE deal is only $20.99 The chicken was so tiny & they only threw in a few fries. You can do MUCH BETTER for better fair value
He destroyed 29 families, served about 3.5 years in prison, and is now fighting deportation to India.
Chris Joseph, who lost his son in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash caused by truck driver Jaskirat Singh Sidhu, explains why Sidhu served such a short time after killing 16 people and injuring 13 others.
“In Canada, everything is concurrent, which means he served sixteen eight-year sentences at the same time, which is ridiculous,” Joseph said.
Joseph argues that Sidhu, who has been portrayed by mainstream media outlets as remorseful, has always been acting in his own interest. Joseph believes he had children with a Canadian citizen in an effort to avoid deportation.
“I know his plan has been to have a Canadian baby when he should’ve had an Indian baby. His plan was to have a Canadian baby to garner sympathy.”
Now, after being ordered deported by multiple authorities, Sidhu is pleading through the media that he does not want to be separated from his baby. He says his baby cannot move to India with him because of the country’s poor air quality, which he claims could put the child’s health at risk due to a rare lung condition.
Do you believe Sidhu is compassionate and remorseful, judging from his actions?
What a great picture of this superstar.

Cool how Don Cherry 🍒 wear his 🇨🇦🇺🇸tie👔when being congratulated for Order of Ontario by Premier Doug Ford. Mischehvous 🍇 style and a reminder of when relationship between neighbours was close. Hopefully Doug PMCarney @POTUS @DonaldTrump paying attention
Few Maple Leafs have done more to give back to their community, through charitable work, mentorship, and ongoing commitment to families.
Last night, Easter Seals Ontario presented Wendel Clark with the 2026 Conn Smythe Lifetime Achievement Award.
