Since I was entrusted with the mission of serving as INTERPOL’s Secretary General, one question has guided every decision I have made:
"How can INTERPOL best serve law enforcement in every corner of our global membership?"
That question has shaped my plan for the next five years: our new Strategic Framework.
It is a promise that will guide how we connect and empower law enforcement for a safer world, built on four pillars.
The first is developing tools, systems and innovative solutions that reinforce INTERPOL’s role as the trusted global information hub for law enforcement. We will preserve what has always made INTERPOL successful but also deploy new technologies that will help police communicate more effectively, manage growing volumes of data, and reduce the administrative burdens that can slow down operational work.
Second is providing world-class investigative and operational support. One of my core objectives is to make our contribution more targeted, timely and responsive to the needs our member countries share with us.
The third pillar reflects a major responsibility: INTERPOL has a unique capacity to strengthen the voice of law enforcement on the world stage. We will advocate for our member countries’ priorities, share their operational realities and concerns, and ensure their needs are heard at the highest levels.
Finally, we will continue driving organizational excellence by strengthening processes, upholding transparency, applying new technologies and investing in expertise.
The world has high expectations of INTERPOL, and we are determined to meet them.
Our new Strategic Framework reflects a complex reality: in today’s world, no country can fight crime alone.
Law enforcement must stand together against crime. And INTERPOL is ready to lead that collective effort with integrity, respect, teamwork, neutrality and transparency.
It was a pleasure to attend ATxSummit 2026 organized by @IMDAsg 🇸🇬
Discussions on agentic & embodied #AI + adoption & adaptation were enriching and insightful, especially that AI innovation in law enforcement is accelerating in both speed and complexity

A quick flashback to our participation in the 21st HNCB Conference held this month where we engaged with our colleagues from National Central Bureaus in INTERPOL member countries 🤝
National Central Bureaus are at the heart of INTERPOL and how we work.
This week reinforced our commitment to each other and to global security.
The 21st HNCB conference closed with a series of conclusions on:
🔵 maintaining operational excellence
🔵 faster cross-border coordination
🔵 better support for missing persons
🔵 encouraging women’s leadership
Dedicated to maintaining a tighter, faster and more efficient network.

As we approach the International Day of Remembrance for Fallen Officers, we take a moment to recognize that the fight against crime is never without risk.
Behind every badge, is someone’s parent, child, sibling or partner - and families waiting for them to come home.

With the theme “Innovation and Partnerships for Safer Journeys,” participants exchanged knowledge on how various law enforcement agencies implement innovative solutions and operational models to protect commuters from sexual harassment, knife crime, robbery, and terrorist attacks
We welcomed a delegation from Cambodia’s National Police plus @UNODC_SEAP and talked about how digital tools can aid in investigating and preventing gender-based violence. Special thanks to INTERPOL’s training unit @INTERPOL_CBT for the coordination!
Cybercrime has real victims – the title of one of my panels at #WEF26.
Back in 2022, INTERPOL first sounded the alarm about a disturbing trend: people being trafficked through fake job ads, then forced to work in online scam centres committing fraud at an industrial scale.
Since then, we’ve seen this model spread beyond Asia, where it was first reported, into the Middle East, West Africa (emerging as a new hub) and Central America.
We’re also seeing how technology, such as the use of AI, is accelerating the harm across all levels.
From generating convincing fake job adverts which attract human trafficking victims, to creating deepfake profiles and scripts to be used on targets of financial scams.
In recent years we have been supporting our member countries tackle this problem based on three pillars:
1Increased information sharing across law enforcement worldwide to identify and track routes, perpetrators and criminal methods.
2Stronger partnerships with NGOs – which are often a crucial point of contact for victims – and technology companies, whose platforms are exploited to scam both sets of victims.
3Robust international enforcement, including coordinated operations that rescue victims, arrest traffickers and recover illicit funds. INTERPOL’s I-GRIP mechanism alone has helped intercept hundreds of millions of dollars.
Thank you to my fellow panellists, @AnneNeuberger, Distinguished Visiting Fellow, Hoover Institution, Stanford University, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Gary A. Haugen, Chief Executive Officer, International Justice Mission @IJM and moderator Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director, World Economic Forum.
Together we highlighted that cybercrime isn’t just about financial loss, it’s about human trafficking, coercion and exploitation – requiring a truly global response.

Pleased to welcome @wef Head of Cybersecurity Akshay Joshi and his team to the General Secretariat headquarters.
Public–private sector collaboration is essential in reinforcing law enforcement capabilities, and his visit will help identify areas for even closer cooperation.
