In a significant effort to prepare local youth for future career opportunities and enhance civil-military relations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 27 Aug 26 between #NavalDockyard Karwar and local Industrial Training Institutes based in Karwar, i.e. Shri Somanath ITI Binaga, Government ITI Baad, Mallikarjun ITI Siddar and Government ITI Ankola.

RAdm Ravnish Seth #ASD Karwar and Dr Dileesh Sasi, Chief Executive Officer, Uttara Kannada Zila Panchayat, were present on the occasion.

Free medical camp was organised at village towards promoting awareness on Healthcare and Community well-being.
In addition to cleanship activity at fishing jetty, Basic amenities were extended to Govt Higher Primary School Kharviwada for the benefit of students and improving educational facilities.

Opportunity ignites skill! Dockyard Apprentice School (DAS) Karwar marked the Passing-Out of 112 Apprentices of the 15th & 16th Batch today, with the Yard's first-ever Campus Interview drive. Chief Guest, Cmde Lavneesh Dhawan, GM(Refit), NSRY Karwar, graced the spirited event comprising stunning display of Apprentices’ projects, vibrant cultural performances, prize distribution, and lunch. Kadamba Division claimed the ASY’s Champion Trophy; and Raja Kumar (Rigger Trade) was adjudged as the Best Apprentice.

Outstanding contributors from every Department, Entry and Trade received Certificates of Appreciation from RAdm Ravnish Seth, VSM, Admiral Superintendent. The Admiral Superintendent lauded the incredible reliability, robustness and versatility of Yard Personnel, enabling flawless execution of all tasks with quality, timeliness and style. True team spirit triumphed!

36 Naval Cadets, including 6 Female Cadets, of 153rd Course of the prestigious National Defence Academy visited NSRY Karwar on 19 Mar 26 as part of their Service Attachment. The budding future Naval leaders interacted with RAdm Ravnish Seth, VSM, Admiral Superintendent; who elucidated Service Ethos and the revered Naval way of life, followed by an overview of the rich history, culture and transformation of NSRY to a '21st Century Yard'. The advanced refitting, repair and support capabilities, and frontline Operational and maintenance roles were explained by the Duty Commander of NSRY, followed by a detailed tour of the Yard. They witnessed the precision engineering involved in Shiplift operations, and were exposed to the vast cutting-edge Technical Infrastructure.

Naval Group India commissioned Pneumatic RAM test facility at its technical workshop in Karwar by the hands of Vice Admiral B. Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM, Chief of Materiel of @indiannavy.
Developed in collaboration with Indian MSME, the facility strengthens in-country maintenance, repair and overhaul (#MRO) capabilities for Kalvari class submarines, reinforcing India’s growing role as a submarine sustenance hub in line with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM, Chief of Materiel (COM) visited NSRY Karwar on 13 Mar 26. The COM was briefed on preparedness for meeting the high refit load and operational tempo of the IN, recent capability enhancements and projects in pipeline. The COM visited Shop Floors, interacted with the Workforce and inaugurated an advanced Communications Lab. The visit culminated with the COM’s address to Officers, wherein he emphasised on future maintenance strategy amidst rapid rise in number of IN combatants and focus on core jobs.

The 79th Raising Day of the Defence Security Corps (DSC) was celebrated with enthusiasm and passion at NSRY Karwar. The 83rd DSC platoon of NSRY put-up a vivid and colourful cultural programme. The chief guest, RAdm Ravnish Seth, VSM, Admiral Superintendent, in his address to the Jawans, highlighted the history, significance and contribution of DSC towards the security of the Nation in general and the critical setup at NSRY in particular.

A Cycle Rally was organised from WED(Karwar) to Hotegali Dam, Bhimkol and back, featuring 10km, 20km and 50km routes. नौसेना पोत मरम्मत यार्ड कारवार में पश्चिम नौसेना कमान के सहायक निदेशक (राजभाषा) के सौजन्य से तीन दिवसीय हिंदी कार्यशाला का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यशाला का विधिवत उद्घाटन कमोडोर विक्टर प्रताप सिंह, महाप्रबंधक (तकनीकी) द्वारा किया गया। इस अवसर पर श्री सुभाष शाह, सहायक निदेशक (राजभाषा) द्वारा राजभाषा हिंदी के अधिनियम/ नियमों के अनुपालन, तिमाही रिपोर्ट, तकनीकी शब्दावली तथा कार्यालयीन कार्यों में हिंदी के प्रगामी प्रयोग हेतु आवश्यक दिशा-निर्देश प्रदान किए गए।
