India not only secured its energy needs, but emerged stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for the future under the leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji. We have successfully managed to maintain an uninterrupted supply of affordable and sustainable energy despite a major geopolitical conflict because we widened our basket of energy sources from 27 in 2014 to 41 countries now. So, while there were disturbances on the Hormuz route, we managed energy imports from other supply chains and geographic routes.
While many countries struggled with shortages and soaring prices, India protected its citizens because we planned ahead, diversified supply chains, strengthened strategic reserves, expanded sourcing options, and took difficult decisions when required.
India is the only country where energy prices remained unchanged for four years. Infact, when prices around the world were shooting up, prices of fuel in India actually went down.
Even now, we remain committed to buffering our citizens from severe impacts, and the price adjustment is minimal compared to the hikes that many countries, including many in our immediate neighbourhood and even in developed countries, are experiencing.

Indian households continue to receive LPG at prices significantly lower than international market levels. With Ujjwala households paying an effective ₹642 and general domestic consumers paying ₹942 per 14.2 kg cylinder in the Delhi market, LPG remains within reach for millions of families.

Despite the current geopolitical situation involving major energy producers, our energy imports are secure and continue to flow from different sources using non-Hormuz routes.

We are comfortably placed and are able to meet the energy requirements of our citizens.

There is no shortage of petrol, diesel, kerosene, ATF or fuel oil. The availability of petrol, diesel, aviation turbine fuel, kerosene, and fuel oil is fully assured. Retail outlets across the country are stocked and supply chains for these products are functioning normally.

Domestic piped gas to homes and CNG for vehicles receive 100% supply with no cuts.

Modi Govt’s foremost priority is that the kitchens of India’s 33+ crore families, especially the poor and the underprivileged, do not face any shortage. Domestic supply is fully protected and the delivery cycle is unchanged.

In a major decision, 20% of the average monthly Commercial LPG requirement will be allocated from today to restaurants and eateries by OMCs, in coordination with the State Governments so that there is no hoarding or black marketing.

This is not the moment for rumour-mongering or fake narratives. India is navigating the most severe global energy disruption in recorded history. Crude supply is flowing. Gas is prioritised for homes and farms. LPG production has been stepped up by 28%.

Like we have done in the past, now is the time for the nation to come together and overcome this challenge.

💠To manage disruptions affecting natural gas shipments through the Hormuz route in the Middle East, the Government has issued a Natural Gas Supply Regulation Order, setting clear priorities to ensure essential supply

💠Under this order, 100% assured supply continues for domestic piped gas to homes and CNG for vehicles

💠India is purchasing natural gas from other routes to offset the short supply

💠To further protect households, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has issued orders to oil refineries for higher #LPG production and using such extra production for domestic LPG use

💠To keep a close watch on the situation, @PetroleumMin has also established a 24×7 Control Room to continuously monitor the supply and stock position of petroleum products across the country
