Following constructive talks with @iomdesc we have agreed to withdraw the two days of strike action planned for next Wednesday and Thursday (15th and 16th February) in order to enable talks to continue to resolve the current dispute over pay, workload and working practices.
A confirmed commitment to considering the suggestions we put forward on addressing members' concerns & also to further talks has been received from DESC this afternoon
Therefore, we have suspended the action as a gesture of goodwill & to enable further negotiations.
Our Deputy General Secretary Jane Peckham explains to @ManxRadio that we were ready to suspend our strike action, but disappointingly the Manx Government did not commit to considering the suggestions we put to them last week.

The Deputy General Secretary for the @NASUWT, Jane Peckham, has also travelled to the island to support those striking.
She says there are teachers on the island who are having to move into shared accommodation and find second jobs.
Some are also relying on the foodbank.
