IOM Caribbean Coordinator & IOM TT Officer-in-Charge recently met with Australia's Deputy High Commissioner, Ms. Caitlin McPherson and Communications/Administrative Assistant, Ms. Erin Hackshaw to discuss areas of mutual interest and opportunities for continued collaboration.
🇹🇹 🇺🇳 After 40 years, T&T is back at the United Nations Security Council.
Today, the UN General Assembly elected T&T as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for 2027–2028 - the first time since 1985-1986.
🎊Congratulations to the Government and people of T&T!
The #IMRF2026 is not just about discussion.
It is where Member States review progress, share solutions and shape action that can make migration safer and better protect people on the move.
Migration is happening everywhere, and no country can manage it alone.
The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration helps countries work together, and the #IMRF2026 is where progress is reviewed and the next steps take shape.
No country can govern migration alone.
The #IMRF2026 brings governments, civil society, the UN and migrants together to govern it more safely, effectively and collectively.
🌍 IOM TT continues advancing safe, dignified resettlement.
This year, 47 Venezuelan, Cuban & Syrian nationals were resettled to Canada with full support throughout their journey.
Plus, 22 migrants heading to Australia received pre-departure orientation to help them integrate.
On #WomensDay, we call for real change.
When all women and girls are protected, empowered and heard, communities grow stronger, trust deepens and the future becomes more resilient.
Rights.
Justice.
Action.
Every woman and girl on the move deserves access to healthcare, protection and justice – wherever she is and regardless of her status.
When rights are respected without discrimination, migration becomes safer and fairer for everyone.
As the year comes to a close, IOM Trinidad and Tobago reflects on a year of impact made possible through partnership and resilience.
From advancing strengthening government capacity and promoting migrant health, we remain committed to protection, dignity & opportunity for all.
Happy International Migrants Day!
Today, more than ever, we highlight stories of personal growth, contribution, and social connections.
