As our cities expand, we aren't just building infrastructure—we are accidentally building giant thermal batteries. This is the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect, and it's why modern urban centers are consistently hotter than surrounding rural areas.
Here is the breakdown of why our concrete jungles are trapping us in a 24-hour heat loop:
The Thermal Battery Trap: Materials like concrete, asphalt, and glass absorb massive amounts of solar radiation during the day. Instead of letting the environment cool down after sunset, they slowly radiate that trapped heat back into our streets all night long.

Watching a heavy downpour like this makes you realize how desperately parts of India need relief right now. As a severe El Niño fuels historic heatwaves, drying up crucial water reservoirs and devastating agriculture, the stark reality of climate change is hitting harder than ever.

Up until today, my time here on X was limited. I could share a snapshot of a golden hour sunset, a clip of storm clouds rolling over green fields, or a silhouette of trees against the dawn—but I couldn't tell you the whole truth about what you were looking at.
Nature isn't just a background for aesthetics. It's a living, breathing system that is changing right before our eyes. When I look through my lens at a changing horizon, I see the beauty—but I also see the rising temperatures, the erratic weather cycles, and the heavy air that affects our communities.
Now that the character limits are gone, this account is evolving.
From today, I am using this space to blend visual storytelling with real, unfiltered environmental awareness. We will celebrate the raw beauty of our planet, but we will also dive deep into the pressing environmental issues shaping our world, our country, and our local backyards.
