Kwarapoly Seeks Enhanced Security Partnership with Civil Defence Corps
In a move to bolster campus security and foster inter-agency collaboration, the Principal Officers of Kwara State Polytechnic today paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command.
The team, led by the Ag. Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Olabisi Awolola expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the consistent hand of friendship extended to the Polytechnic by the Command.
Describing the visit as a friendly gesture to security agencies, Awolola noted that the Civil Defence Corps was the first point of call, recognizing it as a decent organisation.
She emphasised the institution's unwavering commitment to peace, describing it as paramount for any environment seeking development.
The Ag. Rector therefore called for continuous support from the command in order to ensure a serene learning environment in the Polytechnic.
Responding, the State Commander, NSCDC, Kwara State Command, Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga assured the Polytechnic of the Corps' readiness to support and collaborate with the institution in maintaining the existing peace on campus.
To actualize this, he immediately directed some of his officers to work closely with the Polytechnicβs Chief Security Officer to ensure the safety of lives and property across the entire Polytechnic community.
The meeting underscores a proactive step towards strengthening security frameworks and promoting a safer, more conducive academic environment through sustained synergy between educational institutions and security agencies.
