What a non-stop couple of weeks! The finalising & publication of @QMiP Bulletin’s Special Issue on creative & multi-modal methods, & then I’ve just finished writing, & this morning submitted, my first paper on my own (nerves!) while prepping for the start of a crazy teaching year
@davidtensen@katharineparton@AcademicChatter I finished mine at 45, with children and a FT job. Survival tips: 1. love it. It’s a choice, so get fascinated. 2. Make it work with your job, keep both sides relevant to each other. 3. Reflect in the downtimes, you don’t need to be at a desk to make progress! Good luck!
@Jamie_Phelps123@AcademicChatter Everything we do is formative.. if your supervisor is worried Covid is going to prevent you getting your PhD they are worth listening to... Keep the 1st project as your post-pandemic-post-doc on the bubble for later!
Yesterday’s event reflects the culmination of a year’s work by the MED BAME Working Gp launched in June 2019.
@UeaMed remains committed to both see these projects come to fruition and also to develop further steps. Our work will be shared widely @UEA_VC @uniofeastanglia@DIMAH_UK
Tomorrow’s ‘Speaking up Speaking out’ event in @UeaMed@uniofeastanglia @UEA_VC @vcrodrigues_uea to demonstrate positive steps that have been taken in the last year to effect change could not have been more timely or relevant #BlackLivesMatter
I'm grateful & humbled to learn that I'm the recipient of the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education’s 2020 AMTEC Trust Award. This research grant will support my learning as I embark on an IPA study of OER-enabled pedagogy as a component of my #EdD studies. Miigwech @CNIE!
Qualitative research isn't easy. You need to actively listen, be fully present, build rapport and deeply care about what people tell you. It involves being vulnerable, reflexive and aware of your own biases. Yes, qualitative research is kind of magical. #academictwitter#phdchat
