FDA has approved the first oral PCSK9 inhibitor to reduce LDL ("bad") cholesterol in adults with high cholesterol. Until now, PCSK9 inhibitors were only available as injections. The once-daily tablet provides an additional treatment option for adults who need further LDL-C reduction despite existing therapies.

Greg Reybold: According to DOD's own data, it is cheaper for a military family to fill at a retail pharmacy than to fill at ESI's mail order, both to the beneficiary AND to the government. In 2018, a 30 day generic medication was cheaper at retail by ~85% than at mail order.
