@EU_IPO@EU_Commission@Trade_EU@EUinThailand While #IPKeySEA project has come to an end, the EUIPO’s collaboration with South-East Asia continues through the EU-ASEAN Sustainable Connectivity Package – Intellectual Property Rights (#ScopeIPR), demonstrating our unwavering commitment to strengthening IP protection worldwide.
The @EU_IPO concludes another important chapter in its cooperation with #SouthEastAsia as the 2nd phase of #IPKeySEA comes to a close. The project has played a key role in sharing knowledge and best practices on IP protection with authorities and professionals in the region.
To mark this milestone, the EUIPO organised a closing event on 3–4 December with the participation of senior representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to Thailand and the Directorate-General for Trade (DG TRADE) of the European Commission.
A chapter closes, and a new one begins!
The @EU_IPO is concluding its IP Key South-East Asia (#IPKeySEA) project, which is funded by the #EuropeanUnion and implemented by the EUIPO, while also moving forward with a new regional cooperation initiative.

They also discussed how GIs contribute positively to economic growth, tourism, sustainable development, and the preservation of traditional knowledge and cultural expression. Over a hundred participants joined the conference onsite and online.
The @EU_IPO is an intl. registration authority responsible for the registration of craft & industrial GIs as of Dec 2025 and a key player in the protection of agricultural GIs, collaborating with the @EU_Commission and IP offices worldwide.

On 24 Nov, in the context of the #IPKeySEA project, the #EUIPO co-organised a Conference on Geographical Indications in the #EuropeanUnion and #SoutheastAsia with the @myipo. Experts from the EU and Southeast Asia shared how GIs are protected in their respective jurisdictions.
The online forum focused on the topics of the misuse of intermediary services and the establishment of voluntary collaboration practices against IP infringements. Over 40 participants attended the forum.
The @EU_IPO is the EU’s leading organization in the fight against #counterfeits. It hosts the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, a network of experts tasked with enforcement and outreach and knowledge services to protect and promote IP rights.
Yesterday, the EUIPO organised a Forum on Industry Cooperation Against IP Infringements in the European Union and Southeast Asia in the context of the #IPKeySEA project. It featured speakers from the Observatory and IP offices and European chambers of commerce in Southeast Asia.
The impact of technological developments in the protection and enforcement of such IP rights as well as the examination work carried out by the PH and ID IP Offices were also discussed. Held in a hybrid format from 30 Sept to 2 Oct, the events attracted over 160 participants.
The @EU_IPO promotes the convergence of #trademark and #industrialdesign practices at the international level, aiming to simplify the application and registration process for users of the IP system within the and beyond.
The conference offered practitioners the latest updates on the legal frameworks governing these two IP rights in the EU and Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, the workshops provided examiners with practical insights and best practices.
