If you had 💸$3.6 trillion would you build a missile defense system that leaves >75 million Americans at risk? Or would you rather those funds go to healthcare?

The Golden Dome is a false promise which would leave tens of millions of Americans vulnerable to nuclear attack, stimulate a global arms race, and cost trillions of dollars.
Our press conference in DC, launching our new report, exposed the truth of the #GoldenDome.
How do we get representatives to care about issues we care about, like arms control? Our taxpayer dollars should not be funding the Golden Dome, but rather improving our lives and funding things we need.
Speak up. Speak out. Contact your representatives today. We have a chance to stop the nonsense that is the Golden Dome.
⚕️and many more discussions, emails, and publications, and meetings with states, civil society, and one another not pictured, all based on our recommendations to highlight international humanitarian law.
Stay tuned for more on the outcome and what it means for disarmament. #NPT
Later today, the month long Review Conference to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty will end.
While we wait on an outcome from States, let’s look back on some of IPPNW's engagement to make sure humanitarian calls for disarmament are at the center of the conversation! 🧵

The Golden Dome is a Golden Scam. Trump’s missile defense system is a waste of $1.2 trillion dollars of taxpayer money. It isn’t technologically or financially feasible. We must enforce arms control, not an arms race.

"@WHO defines climate change as a defining health challenge of the 21st century, so nuclear war needs to be treated as a core part of the planetary health agenda," writes Dr. Bimal Khadka (@drbimalkhadka), IPPNW and @Medact member.

At the 1995 #NPT Review Conference, States committed to the establishment of a nuclear weapons free zone in the Middle East. IPPNW calls on states to adhere to this 30 year old commitment and implement a weapons of mass destruction free zone in the Middle East.
