RDF MILITARY BAND AND GRADUATING OFFICERS STAGE PARADE AHEAD OF NYAKINAMA GRADUATION CEREMONY

Ahead of the main ceremony to award certificates to officers who have completed their training at the RDF Command and Staff College in Nyakinama, members of the RDF Military Band and the graduating officers staged a parade, showcasing the military drills and discipline acquired during their training.

The training covered various courses, including high-level security management, military strategic planning, and other related disciplines.

President Paul Kagame is gracing the ceremony as Guest of Honour.

108 SENIOR OFFICERS FROM 20 COUNTRIES GRADUATE AT NYAKINAMA

A total of 108 senior officers, drawn from 20 countries including Rwanda, have completed their training at the RDF Command and Staff College in Nyakinama.

Among them, 55 officers graduated with a Master of Arts in Security Studies, the third level of university education.

Leaders from various government institutions, security organs in Rwanda, as well as family members and friends of the graduating officers, have gathered in Nyakinama for the ceremony.

This morning, Minister of State for Education, @ClaudetteIrere, joined the Rwanda International Institute of Ophthalmology (RIIO) at GS Kanazi in @BugeseraDistr to witness an eyesight screening initiative benefiting 1,939 learners and teachers.

Implemented by RIIO with support from Direct Aid, the initiative helps identify and address eyesight challenges that hinder learning. Across 20 schools in Bugesera District, more than 22,700 students and over 500 teachers have already been screened, with those in need of receiving eyeglasses, treatment, and referrals for specialized care.
