I've been reading this hashtag for hours. I honestly cannot believe sometimes that we are still asking women this in court, when the research and multiple experts (myself included) agree that there is no "normal" response to trauma. #Ididntscream#MeToo
“But why didn’t she scream?”
Because traumatic response to an attack by a predator often means involuntary shutting down to survive. Read more

@JanelleRBlu@AAPAorg #1 hate on the Twitter platform: no thumbs down reaction. That’s disappointing. Like it or not, this is political. I doubt dozens of large companies relish the idea of spending up to $1k per employee on abortion access insurance, but here we are.
I have no words. I’m gutted. To have this taken, mostly by people who have never known the fear of a missed period, is jaw dropping. To know that women who are subject to incest, rape, violent relationships…and don’t have access to this fundamental, life-saving choice.

@hemepa_c@MegLeddy923 Oh I was!! Whirlwind trip, spoke twice, and now I’m back home, wondering if it even happened at all! 😂 I would have loved to meet you, too!

Gave an energizing lecture today at #AAPA22 on trauma informed care. Mentioned institutional betrayal & systems failing survivors. We’ve done good work, but there’s much more to be done. This article proves that. #endipv
I’m being honored by a university teaching award tomorrow. Being me, I haven’t thought about what to wear beyond “sweatpants can be fashionable, right?” But I have considered who to thank and decided to thank the students. They’re who I teach for, and who absorbs my hard topics.
