👋 Eddie Howe on Kieran Trippier:
“Kieran has been magnificent for us on and off the pitch. From the moment he walked through the door, he has helped to drive standards that have changed the club’s trajectory. His performances on the pitch have been to the highest level. Building strong partnerships with the players around him. His outstanding technical ability helped elevate the team and his strong crossing ability helped create many goals and chances for his teammates.
His leadership skills have been invaluable. In difficult moments his experience has proved calming and his drive and will to win has inspired the players to keep pushing forward. While we’ll be saying goodbye to Kieran shortly, we also know we have a lot left to play for this season, and I know a player of Kieran’s character will be giving absolutely everything to end his time here on a high.”
Well said boss! 👏

@cam_nufc This example would be classed as ball to hand rather than hand to ball (handball) meaning his hand was already in that position and couldn’t react to get it out of the way fast enough rather than reacting to actually block or divert the ball with his hand.
🇧🇷 Newcastle United are believed to be talking with Santos regarding 20 year old Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo. A fee of up to €25m has been suggested for the striker to join #NUFC in January.
We are certainly desperate for another striker and his record of 54 goals and 11 assists in 161 games is certainly impressive.
A very good transfer if we pull this deal off!

Thanks to everyone at the @NU_Foundation and their mental health group Football Talks for letting Dan and I come down and meet some inspirational people as part of #WorldMentalHealthDay.
These sessions make more difference than anybody can realise.
It's OK not to be OK. 🖤🤍
🗣 Anthony Gordon:
“I’m in the best place physically I’ve been in my whole career. I feel really quick and sharp and that’s showing in my play. I feel I’m able to do a lot of combination play around the box and recover if we lose the ball. I feel great.
I was a bit disappointed [at not starting]. I want to start every game. I feel like I’m playing well so I didn’t want to come out but ultimately we’ve got a really difficult season coming up which will involve large squad rotation I’d imagine.
It’s a team game and when I came on it was just about playing my part. There was no sulking on my part, I just wanted to impact the game as much as I could for the team.” 👏 #NUFC
