PMOI member Hossein Shariat has passed away in Germany, after 45 years of struggle against the mullahs' dictatorship in the ranks of the PMOI and the National Liberation Army of Iran.
Born in 1952 in Tehran, Hossein Shariat went to Germany in 1977 to continue his studies in agriculture at the University of Göttingen.
He began his political struggle against the monarchical dictatorship during his student years.
After traveling to Iran in 1979, recognizing Khomeini's reactionary nature and the dictatorship cloaked in religion, and reading the Mojahed publication, he found his long-sought ideal in the PMOI's teachings.
From 1980 onward, he began working full-time with the Association of Muslim Students, supporters of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran, in Germany.
In 1986, Hossein Shariat joined the PMOI's combat units in the Iran-Iraq border region. Subsequently, with the formation of the National Liberation Army of Iran, he donned the uniform of combat and honor and fought courageously in a series of its operations. He distinguished himself particularly in the major Operation Aftab, demonstrating exceptional bravery and combat prowess.
In the following years, Hossein Shariat diligently assumed heavy responsibilities in various sections of PMOI.
For years, he worked around the clock in fundraising campaigns aimed at ensuring the PMOI's financial independence.
Hossein Shariat maintained his resilience and fighting spirit in his battle with a painful illness, and even during the final days of his life, while bedridden, he remained committed to his obligations and responsibilities. He passed away on August 7 in a hospital in Berlin.
Hosseing Shariat was filled with faith and dedication to God and the people, and without seeking recognition, emerged proud and triumphant from the test of truthfulness and sacrifice and added to the PMOI's honors.
Traversing the turbulent path of struggle and sacrifice for the liberation of Iran is worthy of heroes like Hossein, who give up their lives, livelihoods, homes, and everything they possess for the liberation of their people and ascend to lofty peaks of freedom and human values.
His path continues through the Resistance Units and the generation of youth opposed to dictatorship.
Undoubtedly, his fellow PMOI members will keep his brilliant values and selfless path with redoubled strength.
What are the essential attributes of a viable alternative for Iran's Future, one capable of both toppling the current regime and successfully realizing a democratic transition?

PMOI/MEK Resistance Units mark the anniversary of the 1988 massacre of political prisoners by continuing the legacy of 30,000 martyrs who refused to surrender to the regime.
🚨 Simay Azadi Exclusive | Message from Political Prisoner Parisa Kamali
In a message from Yazd prison, PMOI supporter and political prisoner Parisa Kamali said:
"From 1988 to today, the blood has continued to flow. The clerical regime uses executions and repeated massacres to spread fear in an attempt to prolong its survival—but it is badly mistaken. We have emerged from the bitterness of death, filled with anger. We believe the day will come when execution has no place in the laws of our country."
