@irck_info has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with @islamicreliefke, formalizing the implementation of the #LIMCOProject; a landmark achievement for communities across Marsabit County. This partnership marks a defining step toward a more peaceful, cohesive, and resilient #Marsabit.
As a humanitarian organization rooted in faith-based diplomacy, Islamic Relief Kenya remains steadfast in its mission to advance peacebuilding across Kenya, bridging religious, ethnic, and community divides through dialogue, trust, and shared humanity. This MOU reaffirms that mission, anchoring humanitarian action within community-owned structures for lasting impact.
At the heart of this partnership lies the Marsabit Interfaith Council, a powerful platform bringing together religious leaders as trusted, credible voices for early warning, dialogue, and conflict prevention. By strengthening this interfaith infrastructure, the #LIMCOProject will drive its key outcome areas: enhanced social cohesion, strengthened community resilience against conflict triggers, and sustainable interfaith mechanisms for dialogue and reconciliation.
Together, IRCK and IRK are not just signing a document are also investing in a future where faiths unite rather than divide, and where Marsabit's communities lead their own journey to lasting peace.

Saku Sub-County's peace architecture strengthened, thanks to the LIMCO project's Early Warning Early Response initiative by @islamicreliefke@CAID_Kenya . Security officers, religious leaders, women, youth, elders and peace committees now share a sharper understanding of emerging local conflict drivers, including the rise of sophisticated weapons in community raids and retaliatory livestock attacks.
Practical mediation skills are now in local hands, strengthening the ability to resolve domestic disputes and inter-community land conflicts at the grassroots level. Coordination between government, faith, and community actors has been reinforced, and valuable conflict intelligence has been generated to enable faster, better-targeted responses.
Peacebuilding has also reached residents directly, with peacebuilding, social cohesion, and PCVE messages shared with the community at Webera, extending impact beyond institutions to the grassroots. The result is a more responsive, sustainable peace architecture for Saku Sub-County.

IRCK has completed the Capacity Building Forum for Garissa County's Sub-National Mediators, bringing together the National Peace and Mediation Team (NPMT) with Muslim and Christian religious leaders, community elders, youth, and women from across the county. The forum forms part of IRCK's broader rollout of county-level Capacity Building Forums as Kenya heads toward the 2027 General Elections, following the reactivation of the National Peace and Mediation Forum.
The training equipped local mediators to work alongside the NPMT to engage political actors and electoral stakeholders at both the national and county levels to ensure a peaceful electioneering period. Given Garissa's rich diversity, interfaith collaboration emerged as a critical pillar for stability, with religious leaders, elders, CSOs, and media affirmed as trusted actors in community peacebuilding.
