@NSCpeace Under Secretary Milka Chepkirui led her team in a courtesy call to Nyando Sub-County DCC Mr. Elijah Maranga and his security team. The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss emerging security concerns, ongoing Peacebuilding efforts & the unique conflict dynamics.
The discussion focused on key areas requiring:

NSC conducted a 3-day forum with NGAOs, NPS, County Govt, CSOs and community representatives on persistent conflict dynamics, the current peace structures, their effectiveness and how to rejuvenate them.
Acting CC Geoffrey Ithai presided the forum.
With CS Hon. @kipmurkomen, we convened a review meeting with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to assess the state of preparedness for the 2027 General Elections.
The engagement focused on evaluating existing frameworks, identifying potential gaps and strengthening coordination mechanisms to ensure a credible, secure and efficient electoral process.
Present were colleague PS Dr. Belio Kipsang (Immigration and Citizen Services); Inspector General (IG) of Police Douglas Kanja; Deputy Inspectors General (DIG) Gilbert Masengeli (APS) and and Eliud Lagat (KPS); alongside other senior security officers.
The forum also gave recommendations on how to enhance trust and confidence building between local residents and security officers. ADR mechanisms were also emphasised in conflict management.

In Kieni East, Nyeri County.

Kenya has become the first country to formally operationalize the Ateker Leaders Council, opening a new chapter in efforts to deepen peace and cooperation among Ateker pastoral communities that live along our borders with Uganda, South Sudan and Ethiopia.

The Council provides a structured platform for locally driven conflict resolution, fostering dialogue and peaceful coexistence among communities across the borders of Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan and Ethiopia.
The event was graced by CS Hon. Beatrice Askul Moe (EAC), host Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai (Turkana), MPs Hon. Ekwom Nabuin (Turkana North), Hon. Epuyo Nanok (Turkana West), Hon. Protus Akujah (Loima), Hon. Oku Kaunya (Teso North) and Hon. Mary Emase (Teso South) among other regional leaders.
