@tombennett71 If, as a school leader, you seek to improve attendance, pupil + staff welfare and exam results, start with improving behaviour. Everything else flows from that.

@tombennett71 Depen on whether you’re just passively watching or actively observing. How does the teacher transition between activities, tackle off-task behaviour, use questioning, check understanding etc? As an experienced teacher, I’ve even picked up tips from observing NQT’s lessons!

@nettyjane5 @tombennett71 The transition went from fixed chalkboard to rolling chalkboard to rolling chalkboard with a white section)!!) to a fixed whiteboard. Smartboards were just starting to be installed when I left, but most people just used them to write on in pen!
