Providers of fully customisable reporting systems to schools, special schools, PRUs, LAs and academy trusts. Custom behaviour, accident, CP logs and more.
@McPherson1187@tombennett71 When I started we had chalkboards, books and OHPs and … we managed. Kids got taught and passed exams. What’s the driver for the move to iPads? What problem will they solve? Or is it that ‘someone thought it would be a good idea’?
Just finished a new pupil monitoring system for a specialist provision;
✅ Attendance logged every lesson
✅ Individual scores for attitude, effort, behaviour, engagement etc
✅ Time in/out of class monitored
✅ End-of-day reports generated instantly

@adamboxer1@tombennett71 We had a mature student and mother on our PGCE. She had all the the answers; all you need is love, understanding etc. and they will behave.
Her feedback following the first teaching practise: (quote ) “the f@&*ing little shits need shooting!”.
Yes, no substitute for experience.
@tombennett71 If, as a school leader, you seek to improve attendance, pupil + staff welfare and exam results, start with improving behaviour. Everything else flows from that.
@Headteacherchat If staff in your school are refusing to comply with a reasonable instruction from the HT in directed time, the registers are the least of your problems.
@tombennett71 Depen on whether you’re just passively watching or actively observing. How does the teacher transition between activities, tackle off-task behaviour, use questioning, check understanding etc? As an experienced teacher, I’ve even picked up tips from observing NQT’s lessons!
#PBS is ...about helping the team supporting to understand the person and their #behaviour, to adapt their behaviour to meet the persons needs and to structure their behaviour to support the learning of new skills. #positivebehavioursupport
@nettyjane5@tombennett71 The transition went from fixed chalkboard to rolling chalkboard to rolling chalkboard with a white section)!!) to a fixed whiteboard. Smartboards were just starting to be installed when I left, but most people just used them to write on in pen!
@tombennett71 When I started I was told 'you can be friendly, but you can't be their mate'. The more 'matey' you are, the more difficult it becomes to enforce discipline.
