The popular quote "Don't speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke. Your body doesn't know the difference. Words are energy and they cast spells, that's why it's called spelling" Bruce Lee :
@Officially_Kriz The question is, if every other person in the room, around or close to him, what happens to his family. The sons and daughters, the spouse? I am perplexed by this very statement. Does it meant once you are in a place of power, your family is isolated from you?
I interviewed people at Shell for years, and here is the quiet thing almost no one tells you.
You are not rated on results alone. You are rated on the how, not just the what.
Two engineers run two projects. Both fail to hit target. One gets sidelined. The other gets promoted. Same outcome, different fate.
The difference was never the result. It was behaviour. The one who won gave daily updates, pulled his bosses into the problem early, and ran a lessons-learned session when it was over.
He turned a failed project into proof that he was safe to bet on.
Deliver, yes. But learn to be seen delivering. In most rooms, that is the actual skill.
The real test isn't whether your idea is good. It's whether you can handle being the only person who believes in it for longer than you thought possible. While everyone else moves on to the next shiny thing, you're still here. Still building. Still believing. That loyalty to your vision? That's what separates the dreamers from builders.
@dammiedammie35 This is a great conversation. But regarding the $1 trillion economy, is opay & Moniepoint not playing in that field. What are the possibile solutions/services this sector requires that are not currently in placed? I have always known that it’s huge capital waiting to be unlocked
@DrJoeAbah The redesign of the NYSC is a step in the right direction. The current socioeconomic dispensation calls for a program the meets the current VUCA ecosystem. We need a nation of builders, people who can midwife concepts to life. More than ever, we need an army of innovators.
Private equity is when wealthy individuals or investment firms buy companies that are not publicly traded on the stock market, improve them, and later sell them for a profit.
Here's a simple example:
Imagine a bakery is worth ₦10 million, but it is poorly managed.
A private equity firm buys the bakery.
They hire better managers, expand to more locations, reduce unnecessary costs, and increase profits.
Five years later, the bakery is worth ₦50 million.
The firm sells it and makes a profit.
Think of it like this:
Private equity is like buying an old house, renovating it to make it more valuable, and then selling it at a higher price.
The difference is that instead of houses, private equity firms buy and improve businesses.
@SasDantata One of the best thing that could happen to Nigeria is onboarding the informal sector into the formal economy. There is billions $ of unrealized tax & liquidity permeating through this sector. The question is what policy do we need to implement to trigger this transition?

Conor Neill, profesor de MBA, lo dice sin rodeos: la vida premia la acción, no la inteligencia.
Y cuanto más listo eres, mejores excusas te inventas para no actuar.
8 ideas para dejar de pensar y empezar a moverte:

"If there is one lesson I have learned throughout my journey, it is that success is rarely determined by who starts first or even who starts strongest. More often, it is determined by who remains committed long enough to see their vision become reality."
Ray Kroc, the "founder" of McDonald's as we know it today, said this - "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated failures.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."
That quote alone inspired me to pursue entrepreneurship.
