The ISPCA is an autistic led whistleblower org that seeks to expose individuals & orgs that have been found to harm or exploit autistics. We do deep dives into anonymous reports of harm by orgs like #AutismSpeaks or #JRC DM experiences or share here directly.
So much of our ableist society is based on the harmful
belief that disabled people are inferior, unworthy and expendable.
Ableism is devaluing and dehumanizing.
Disabled people are an essential part of humanity.
Disabled people are worthy.
An example of how businesses can be supportive to the autistic community is this sign out in front of the toy store “My Small World” located in Bath, England. 💛
Different does not mean less.

Hot take but universities should not be permitted to monitor and harass disabled students about degree completion timelines without also providing material assistance to help move things along.
I got asked if I could do a fibromyalgia study. They are only offering a 100$ gift card at the end of the study. And they wonder why they can't find people.
It's for about 4 weeks and 5 days a week. It's about 3 hr by transit or 1hr by car to get there and back.
@AnnMemmott Wish you had a presence on mast o don, your insight and research would be really appreciated there. There's instances run by ND folk like https://t.co/XFCf3i2ZHj
@adamfare1996 Labeling disabled people as “work shy” is deeply ignorant and dismissive of the immense challenges we face daily.
Many push through unbearable pain just to survive.
It’s not laziness; it’s a fight for dignity and survival. Such judgments only perpetuate harmful stereotypes.
@adamfare1996 We work as our own physical therapists, dieticians, OTs, counsellors, pharmacist and cheerleading team. All unpaid. Many of us even do other unpaid work and personal development for shîts and giggles.

Stop viewing disabled people through a lens of inferiority and pity.
Start viewing disabled people through a lens of civil rights, justice and humanity.
There are autistic people who like "childish" things. Bright, pastel colors, stim boards, toys, the word "neurospicy". We shouldn't be infantilized, but we shouldn't act like it's bad if you ARE like this. Some of us are.
@childmindinst It's abuse pure and simple. Torturing autistic children so they look like NT children isn't treatment or care. It's psychological and physical abuse of the most vulnerable.
as a victim-survivor, I have left / had to leave *every single space* in which I belonged / of which I was a part.
& my abusers-perpetrators? they all still remain.
You gotta be kidding. 😡 This sounds very, very bad. The dominance of our interests can be one of the best things about autistic people, for us AND for society.
I know of autistic people who became estranged from their parents because their parents tried to make them bland.
