The problem with some Kenyans is entertaining such kind of fantasy. Just 2 years ago Ruto was “the messiah” himself, now he’s the devil” himself, the denominator being the people he’s working with or against, not his competency. “The plan” was a document from heaven before Gachagua was impeached, now they don’t even know what it is; All because they want to live in fantasy, being radicalized and massaged by people like Lynn Ngugi.

Mark this, Ruto will win his second term not because he has done anything special but because he’s hated for being inclusive and that’s that must sink in your heads.

Now Madam, you’re free to celebrate your win, but Turning a single by-election into proof that the entire country has rejected Ruto is political spin, not fact. Every election is influenced by local issues, candidates, turnout, and campaign dynamics.
Let’s celebrate democracy if there’s anything to celebrate but just as one victory doesn’t guarantee the next, neither does it prove a thing at this stage of Kenyan politics. Those who love their country more than their community leaders will elect the next president and they are many!

Some things will take me forever to understand. Why does a 1 and a half hour flight from Nairobi to Dar Es Salaam cost Ksh. 40,000 to Ksh 50,000 yet a 24 hour flight from Nairobi to China is Ksh 75,000. What exactly is going on?
Why does accomodation for one night at a four star hotel in Kenya cost Ksh 20,000 yet in China a four star hotel is Ksh 5,000 per night?
Why do borrowers in Kenya pay an interest rate of 18% to 22% for loans yet in China the interest rate is 3%. How will a kenyan company that is borrowing to expand its manufacturing technology or equipment compete with a chinese company that is borrowing 1 billion dollars at 3%?
