We react strongly to the budget proposal
The result will be that only those in the world who are wealthy will be able to come to study in Norway, Amine Fquihi, national president of ISU, writes.

Skolepenger is a policy which targets the world’s most
vulnerable groups, those in the Global South and does not improve the quality of
education in Norway

We at ISU Norway are grateful for all of the amazing volunteers who make an important difference in our organization and for all of the volunteers who help bring change the world over. We wish you all a happy international volunteer's day!
We at ISU Norway would like to wish all international students a happy International Students Day! Today is a time to rejoice in multiculturalism in education, and to be grateful for the freedom to gain an education. Stay strong and stay safe!
"If tuition fees are introduced for international students, many bright, yet poorer, students will not be able to access an education that would help them rise out of the limitations that their economic and social background has placed them in."

"[Høyre] announced their intent to introduce tuition fees for international students from outside of the EEA....[this] would only be the first step towards introducing tuition fees for all students, including Norwegians," says ISU's National President.

Arbeiderpartiet's program draft states that they want higher education to be free for all, but Høyre's draft seeks to introduce tuition fees for international students. ISU stands in solidarity with Arbriderpartiet against tuition fees for all students.

— Vi er glade for at internasjonale studenter som sliter økonomisk har fått utsatt fristen for å bevise at de kan forsørge seg selv. https://t.co/eEm0x9Aocb

"ISU urges the Norwegian authorities not close their eyes to the economic situation that many of those living in Norway are struggling with. Many international students rely on an income...to meet the requirements for their student visa" Amine Fquihi writes.
Et land i en økonomisk krise burde ikke ønske at skattebetalende innbyggere som bidrar til kvaliteten til utdanningen, forlater landet, skriver Amine Fquihi i @ISU_NORWAY: https://t.co/P5rZMAfE1x
"ISU's experience is that the government has so far decided that they will not provide any assistance to international students who have lost their jobs. 'Students are now worried they may be thrown out of Norway', says [ISU Norway's President] Amine Fquihi"

"Norwegian students have been granted a certain guarantee, with an extended deadline for applying for scholarships and loans with Lånekassen until April 15....This cannot be said for international students. They are without protection....Solutions for this group are also needed."
Å ikke hjelpe de internasjonale studentene, er en forskjellsbehandling av ulike grupper studenter som er vanskelig å forsvare, skriver tre studentledere. @Kunnskapsdep https://t.co/zRfqxpeXXX
We at ISU Norway raise our voice in unity with the student parliament at the UiO @SP_UiO as well as @aufnorge that rent for all students should be reduced or postponed, since many students have been laid off and cannot receive unemployment benefits.
