Sarcasm was a common and familiar trait, and Kim noticed it immediately and simply smiled.
“Tea, then.”
And then she walked to the kitchen to boil water while she looked for a cup.
“You didn’t pass the bar exam, did you?”
he couldn’t help the amused glint lingering in hazel hues, knee bouncing out of nervousness and slightly grabbing his chin.
“coffee. because i definitely need more caffeine to pump me straight into a cardiac arrest.”
cue gesturing with the other hand in sarcastic —
“Do you know who else does that with her lips when they lie?”
Kim pursing her lips as well to show him what she was talking about and that, she had too much Jamie in him.
“I’ll make you some coffee, and we’ll talk. And it’s non-negotiable.”
a shaky exhale left the boy. the amount of bullshit he’s been getting himself into lately was crazy. he’d rather his parents not know, especially since they’re not even married.
he just nodded, pursing his lips a bit forward. “yeah.. i — i am too.. i’m okay though!”
“I'm not scolding you Jason, but you know if you need help I’m here for you, right?”
Help him whether it was with a contact for a good professor who could help him prepare for the bar exam or just meet up for coffee and complain about life. Kim would be there for him.
(+) Chuckling Kim let her know, and if the brunette happened to forget her last order she wouldn’t blame her. All she wanted was to see her.

And while Kim waited for her wife to arrive, she got up from the couch where she had spent most of the afternoon lying down reading about the last pro bono case she had fought tooth and nail to be able to represent. (...)
