Charpatinath extensively wandered across the earth, visiting every major pilgrimage site from the sacred Badrika ashram in the Himalayas down to Rameshwaram in the south. Having explored the mortal world entirely, a desire arose in his heart to witness the magnificent heavenly realms (Swargaloka).

Returning to the Badrika ashram, he respectfully sought the darshan (divine vision) of Lord Shiva. Then, chanting the powerful Vyanastra (mantra of swift movement), he applied the energized sacred ash (Bhasma) to his forehead. In a blinding flash, he ascended to the heavens!

His first destination was the highest heavenly realm, Brahmaloka, the abode of Lord Brahma. The moment Lord Brahma learned that Charpati was, in fact, his own son (born from his divine seed), he was overwhelmed with joy. Reunited with his celestial father and his brother, Sage Narada, Charpati spent a blissful year residing in Brahmaloka.

Meanwhile, Sage Narada casually visited the heavenly court of Lord Indra. Seeing Narada, Lord Indra mockingly laughed and taunted him, "Ah! Here comes Narada, the creator of strife ( कळीचा नारद )! Tell me, where are you going to plant the seeds of discord and start a fight today?"

Narada was deeply hurt and offended by this unjust accusation. In reality, Narada never caused fights just for his own entertainment; he merely acted as an instrument of divine destiny (Prarabdha), ensuring that individuals faced the consequences of their karma.

Seeing that Lord Indra had formed such a profound misunderstanding about him, Narada felt a surge of righteous anger. Looking straight at Indra, he declared, "Since you hold such a low opinion of me, I promise you, I shall now deliberately bring such a chaotic situation upon you that you will remember it!"

Back in Brahmaloka, Narada decided to show Charpati the legendary heavenly garden of Lord Indra, the Nandanvan. However, Charpati could not match Narada's incredible speed of travel. To solve this, Narada taught Charpati the supreme mystical art of Trikhandagaman (the power to travel freely across the three worlds).

Through the sheer power of mantras, Charpati gained the ability to instantly teleport to the heavens (Swargaloka), the mortal earth (Mrutyuloka), the netherworlds (Patalaloka), and the highest realm of truth (Satyaloka).

Empowered, the two brothers arrived at the breathtaking Nandanvan garden in the heavenly city of Alakapuri. The garden was a paradise, trees bursting with the sweetest divine fruits, the overwhelming fragrance of celestial flowers, the melodious songs of brilliantly colored birds, and a cool, refreshing breeze.

Charpati was absolutely enchanted. Because they were hungry, the two gleefully plucked and ate the rarest, most delicious divine fruits. Gathering a large bunch of fragrant, glowing flowers, they returned to Brahmaloka, respectfully laid the flowers at Lord Brahma's feet, and bowed before him.

This soon became a daily routine. Every day, Narada and Charpati would sneak into Nandanvan and feast on Lord Indra's prized fruits. Realizing that the garden was being raided, Indra's forest guards set a trap. One day, they successfully ambushed and caught Charpati! Narada, however, saw them coming and swiftly fled the scene.
