#News A MOTHER has been charged with CAPITAL MURDER after she shot both of her sons in the head inside their home. One died in his bedroom. The other died at the hospital.

Yes, you read that right…..

Colleen Nichole Lemmon, 42 telling deputies,

“I shot both my kids”

The shooting happened in the 900 block of Big Sky Drive in Waxahachie, Texas, just after 4:13 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

🔻Deputies were sent after a 911 hang-up. Dispatch got the caller back. A woman said all units were needed, would not say why, and hung up again.

🔻At the house, deputies heard a woman yelling for more units. Through a window they could see blood on her hands.

🔻They found her in the living room, covered in blood, a gun next to her. The affidavit describes cuts on her wrists that appeared self-inflicted. The injuries were not life-threatening.

🔻Asked where the blood came from, she said she shot both her kids, and pointed them to the bedrooms.

🔻The brothers were in separate bedrooms. Both had been shot in the head.

🔻Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.

🔻His brother, 15, was rushed out in critical condition and later died. The sheriff’s office withheld his name. The family identified him as Brian Pitre.

🔻Their father, Scott Pitre,said he had just celebrated Brian’s 15th birthday with him at the lake on Sunday. He said he wants to be the voice for justice. Funerals are planned for next week.

Lemmon was treated at a hospital, then booked into the Wayne McCollum Detention Center.

She is charged with two counts of capital murder.

In Texas, capital murder is a capital felony. If convicted, the range is death or life without parole.
