I THOUGHT IT WAS ARMED ROBBERS. IT WAS EFCC.
At 4:00AM today, I was sleeping when I suddenly woke up to the sound of shouts, loud bangs, and people screaming.
At first, I thought we were under attack. My neighbor’s apartment was being violently hit, loud thuds against her door, crashing sounds that shook the entire building. Then, without warning, they moved to my flat.
They didn’t knock like normal people.
They started banging, hard.
Then they broke my metal protector, a heavy-duty one I installed for security, worth over ₦150,000. They destroyed it without a second thought.
Still thinking it might be thieves, I looked through the window, and what I saw shocked me: two Coaster buses filled with men carrying torches and weapons.
But these weren’t robbers.
They were EFCC.
Not dressed like law enforcement officers coming to question anyone.
They came like they were raiding a terrorist cell.
They had no search warrant.
No warning.
No explanation.
Just brute force and chaos.
One of my neighbors' doors was kicked open with so much ease, it was terrifying, like the guy had superpowers. What scared me the most was that this happened at a lady’s apartment.
And I asked myself:
What if those girls were home?
What if they were asleep, vulnerable, like many women, undressed, unaware?
What kind of trauma would they have faced?
Is this how we treat our own citizens?
EFCC stormed the compound like they were hunting down someone who stole from the Central Bank.
Yet they found no one.
They just broke in, damaged everything, and moved on.
The gate was locked with keys, bolted from behind, and wrapped with barbed wire.
How they even got in remains a mystery.
They came to my door next.
I was alone. Shaking.
If they had seen me, as a young Nigerian man, I know how this could have ended.
In Nigeria, your gender and appearance alone can make you a target.
But God showed up for me.
My mother was around, visiting me.
She came out and they saw her interrogated her, and went over to my neighbor's flat broke in too, no one was around so they checked and left
They left behind broken doors, damaged rooms, fear, and silence.
No apology.
No conversation.
No one talked about fixing what they destroyed.
We are now left to clean up.
To repair.
To pay for damages we didn’t cause.
And I ask again:
Is this how it’s done in other countries?
Do their anti-corruption agencies burst into private homes at 4:30 AM, without warrants, accountability, or even confirming who lives there?
We’re not criminals just because we’re young.
We’re not guilty because we own laptops, phones, or happen to understand the digital world.
I fully support the fight against corruption.
But this? This was not a raid.
This was terror, sponsored by silence.
We cannot keep normalizing this madness.
Our homes are not battlegrounds.
Our safety is not negotiable.
Our rights are not optional.
To the EFCC, you didn’t just break into my apartment,
You broke trust. You broke the peace. You broke people.
But you didn’t break my voice.
So I’m saying this loud:
We deserve better.
We demand accountability.
This has to stop.

$NAKA $LAND.
@JoshuaAbel68@NakamotoGames Been watching $NAKA for a while. It's a solid team, real games, and they actually deliver. If GameFi takes off this cycle, this one’s a sleeper rocket.
@IamKingDammy This is true, most people learn these the expensive way, the market isn’t just about spotting opportunities, it’s about having the discipline to stick to your plan, you survive and grow by having, fewer plays, stronger conviction, and knowing when to step out
