“The Eucharist gives an idea of the union we will have in heaven."
"How could I live failing even for a single morning to receive Jesus in the Communion?"
— Saint Padre Pio
"If we knew the value of the Mass, we would die of joy."
— The Cure d'Ars
If you are Catholic and will be going to the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) keep a few things in mind:
1. Confess your sins, not other people's sins.
2. Don't tell a story about why you sinned.
3. Don't talk about other people.
4. Sins are not accidents, so if you accidentally sneezed in public that is not a sin.
5. Don't talk about who you do and do not like, what you do for fun, how tough your job is or how you "almost" sinned.
6. If you accidentally did something and it was not intentional it is not a sin.
7. Be assured that if you confess your sins as far as you can remember since your last confession all of your sins are forgiven.
If you are not Catholic don't complain that Catholics do go to Confession.
@ThrillaRilla369 Yes we all did & still do! Not just eggs though-taco mix-make the beef everything is cut up and no taco packet. Ugh. Go to make a meatloaf and realize no breadcrumbs - call the neighbor. They do the same all the time!
I got a free pass on the commandment to love thy neighbor!🙏🏻
@RonanRhodes All of the choices! I always offer to make deviled eggs for parties because people say “oooooh!” when they see them and eat them as if they havent eaten in a week! 😅🥚
@Sachinettiyil Amen! I have a beautiful one on distressed wood at my front door and paper cards in other places. These remind us to pray. And pray. And pray.
St. John Lateran is the first church that was built in Rome after Christianity became officially legalised.
Above the altar of this church holds a reliquary that contains a piece of the table where the first Mass was celebrated by Jesus Himself(the Last Supper), and the altar also holds the skulls of St. Peter and St. Paul.
I must come here one day.
@UcheMaryOkoli It’s beautiful! I was there in March this year and was amazed at the beautiful Bascilica and all of the amazing statues.
Just down the road is the church of the Holy Cross with the largest piece of the true cross and many many relics.
I didn’t know this was the 1st in Rome!
I ordered these beautiful unique prayer cards to put in with my rosaries. The art is by the artist Adam Dziuba. You might recognise the image in some of my centrepieces
@CarmeliteAnna Oh they are so beautiful! I’ve been watching to see the photos when you posted them! What a nice touch to add to the shipments! Well done Anna!
❤️ As the Month of May comes to an end, I find myself looking back with a grateful heart.
Blessed Mother, thank you.
Thank you for walking with us quietly, gently, and faithfully.
Thank you for your motherly love, for your prayers, and for the way you always bring our hearts back to your Son.
In moments of joy, you teach us to praise God.
In moments of sorrow, you remind us we are not alone.
In moments of weakness, you point us back to Jesus.
May this month not simply end, but leave something deeper in our hearts:
❤️ A greater love for Mary, a stronger trust in her intercession, and a renewed desire to follow Christ more faithfully.
Blessed Virgin Mary, thank you for being our Mother.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. 🌹🌹🌹

I’ve never been able to do this before joe. Worked first time I tried perfectly. I kept one of my late dad’s Christmas ties he always wore.

Pastoring two parishes and a school, I hit stretches where it feels like there’s nowhere where there isn’t a fight.
Somewhere, someone is always unhappy; Some express it in a healthy way and some don’t.
Some recognize that they work with fallible humans and choose peace, some will never stop punching until they feel like their circumstances are perfect.
This morning, I really called out to the Lord and I asked him if it’s supposed to be like this; I asked him if priesthood is supposed to be 24/7 dealing with conflict and fights and arguments, personnel, etc.
A funny thing happened: it struck me that I don’t know if this is his Will and I’m not even sure how knowing the answer will help me.
Here’s what I do know: Jesus is Lord and honestly? That’s really all I need to know.
My job is to be as faithful as I can, to cling to Him with all of my might and to proceed boldly forward in faith, trusting that He has won, He is winning, He will win.
