We are finishing the 59th ITH-Conference with a concluding debate, chaired by @glebalbert (Lucerne), @JuliaGErdogan (Berlin), Michael Homberg (Potsdam), @mueste300 (Bonn), Martin Schmitt (Paderborn) and @GarstenauerT (Vienna).
In our last panel "New challenges and old problems? Digital Platforms: Delivery & Transportation" Lucas Santos Souza (Fluminense Federal University, Rio de Janeiro) will present his paper.
We continue today with a panel on "Automation dreams and fears: Computing and Programming in the 20th and 21st century" with papers by Timo Leimbach (Aarhus University) and Michele Santoro (University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’).
"Digital Literacy: Computer Education and Training for the Future" is our fourth panel, including papers of Tim Schinschick (Georg-Eckert-Institut Braunschweig), Anna Katharina Osterlow (Centre d’histoire de Sciences Po) and Walpurga Friedl/Ernst Langthaler (JKU Linz).
Up to the next panel "Office Work and the Rise of the Service Industry” with contributions of Anna Baumann (University of Berne), @Ch_Berth (University of Graz) and @BridgetKenny2 (University of the Witwatersrand).
After a wonderful lunch we continue with the panel "Self-Made Entrepreneurship and Home Computing" with a paper by Jaroslav Švelch (@raguklemenso, Charles University Prague).
In our first panel "Knowledge Networks in the Digital Age" we welcome Eugene Sensenig (Lebanese Emigration Research Center) and Ilse Lenz (Ruhr University Bochum). A true hybrid panel connecting Lebanon, Linz and Bochum. 💻🛜
Today we start with an Opening lecture by @jamie_woodcock (Kings College London) on the topic: "Game Worker Solidarity: mapping collective action in the games industry".
The 59th ITH-Conference is officially opened by the ITH-President @GarstenauerT. We are honoured to welcome Mar Hicks (@histoftech; University of Virginia) delivering her keynote lecture on "Rethinking Histories of Labour and Computing".
