We join with the millions who mourn the loss and assassination of Charlie Kirk today. His voice for traditional values and the cause of Christ was a blessing to the nation and to so many of us. We also recognize this event for what it is in light of the larger spiritual war facing our nation. Ephesians 6 makes it clear that, while our fight often has a human face, in reality, “…we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ultimately, this attack, and so many other recent tragedies, exemplify this fight and underscore the need for people to hear the message of salvation that Charlie devoted the latter part of his life to proclaiming. He recognized the words of Truth in Jeremiah 17:9 that “the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked …“. His testimony and determination brought the light of Truth into the darkness so that it could shine forth and illuminate the beacon of hope in the lives of the lost. We pray today for Charlie's precious family. We pray for the salvation of our nation. We pray for law enforcement as they bring the assassin to justice. We pray for the conviction of God to come upon the assassin. Above all else, we pray that God would use this senseless tragedy for His glory.
