Delighted to have my second paper on the impacts of territorial Stegastes species on coral reef ecosystems published in the Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology today! Big thanks to everyone who contributed! https://t.co/dhcqFLKVRk
Absolutely buzzing to announce that I'll be starting a PhD in behavioural ecology in October with the #killenlab@shaunkillen at @UofGlasgow @IBAHCM! It's been a tough couple of years of applications but I get to live the dream with my #1 choice! Roll on October!
Absolutely stoked to have my first paper published in @SpringerCORE! Massive thanks to my coauthors @shaunkillen@LeVinAshley3@davemarinebio@Diya20489136 and Shashi Chumun and to my wonderful supervisor Ranjeet Bhagooli and everyone at the University of Mauritius.
Super proud of Izzy Tiddy for this honours placement project, now out @SpringerCORE! She shows territorial defence by Stegastes damselfish reduces predation on corals, possibly helps coral outplanting for rehabilitation efforts: https://t.co/JBtIaIcW8w #fishsci@GlasgowUniFish
I feel like we all need some distraction just now and I like to come up with ways to make exam revision more fun so I'm going to start tweeting weird sentences I read from my study notes with the hashtags #outofcontextecology or #outofcontextevolution. Please enjoy.

Itβs been two weeks, can we all agree to drop the pretense that βwe allβ have βso much free timeβ now? Everyone I know is stretched to the limits of their emotional capacity and/or is dealing with an increased workload, professionally and/or domestically. What is this free time?
For the person in my building who sings loudly at random times of the day - I genuinely enjoy your singing and think you have a wonderful voice. I can tell that your singing makes you happy and it makes me happy too.
I'm a final year Master's of Science student in marine and freshwater biology, red and purple belt in taekwondo and karate respectively, and most of my spare time is taken up with designing, planning, and getting tattoos, eating, and pspspsps-ing at disinterested cats #TransAND
As an urban ecologist I am not surprised by this. In fact, I expect that we will see an influx of surviving wildlife into urban areas post-fires. Urban areas can provide safe habitat to wildlife, as well as predictable and reliable resources, especially food and water.
